Landscaping for the Fall

I’m always very busy with Steven Vandora and Associates, my landscaping company, during the autumn. That’s because as the leaves change, maintenance is often needed in many clients’ gardens to ensure that their yards will look their best in the spring. Among some of the best maintenance work to be done now:

1) Dividing overgrown perennials. You could technically wait until spring, but doing this task now means your perennials will grow quicker and healthier in the new season.

2) Take care of your outdoor potted and hanging plants. If your climate is mild enough, you can simply bury the pots in the ground. If you live in a less forgiving climate, bring your plants inside. If some of your plants in the garden are tender, you may need to cover them for the winter.

3) Check for slugs. Since I started Steven Vandora and Associates in California, I know all about slugs – they’re a huge problem out here and they breed in the fall. Now is a good time to check for slugs and to set out traps if you need to.

4) Watering maintenance. Many trees and shrubs can become dry over the winter, so it’s a good idea to give them a very good watering before the frosts come.

5) Pruning. Some of your flowering shrubs –especially those shrubs that flower in the summer — may need pruning during the fall season.

6) Cleaning. Get rid of branches, says Steven Vandora, dead leaves, and other debris from your garden now. You can start a compost or simply get rid of them so that you won’t have a large clean up job facing you in the spring. A bit of manure over your lawn and garden after your big clean up will prep the soil for spring growth.

Useful ideas how improve landscape design

There are numerous approaches to improve landscape designing. First of all you should take into account climatic zones and of course wishes of you potential customer. These are very important requirements because if you choose the wrong the plants they will die in some time because they where planted in wrong climatic zones and can not easily adapt to changing conditions. On the other hand you customer must be satisfied with your work. If he is not you will not get money and everything that you have done will be useless.

For example, Steven Vandora is one of the most popular landscape designers who can create special atmosphere in the garden when the work is done. Only Steven Vandora is able to combine adapt the most beautiful plant with the landscape that he is working with. He can solve any problem and meet the requirements of every customer. For example, not long ago he managed to create a garden with an artificial pool which was one of the requirements of the customer. He made it so perfect that in spring some birds started to make their nests here. This proves that Steven Vandora managed to create a totally original place where everything is organically combined and lives in harmony with nature. This only proves the work of a true master who is able to create s state of art.
